Re: league lab: gwen/jason/naila
[Gwen was super trusting. She didn't realize that the head scientist's kindness was a way to ensure cooperation, just as she hadn't realized that the old scientist (the one who'd helped her sneak out all the time) had been trying to do the same thing. She thought people acted how they were, and maybe that was indicative of what had gotten the donor killed in the first place. But this (subsequent) Gwen was just as trusting as the one before, and she liked the head scientist for not being sadistic. A lot of the League scientists were sadistic, and even more of them had no concern for their test subjects. Test subjects were considered things, assets not meriting of kindness, and Gwen was just happy to find a scientist who didn't send her home with unnecessary bruises.]
Good morning. [Gwen tipped her copper head back when the scientist greeted Jason. It was her natural curiosity showing in her need to know how Jason acknowledged the greeting (if at all).] I've been well. I feel good. Nothing feels wrong, and I haven't noticed any fluctuations in vitals or condition. [Gwen watched the tourniquet and needle with seafoam eyes that were kind of numb to this entire process. It had been happening every single day since she'd awoken at the League lab in New York, and it was even easier with the spray that the scientist used before drawing the blood.
She sat back and relaxed, and that was totally proof that anything could become commonplace in life if it was experienced often enough. She didn't have any stress about the process, and it was only not being allowed to leave that worried her.] I'm not going to have to stay, am I? [Curiously, though her concern seeped through in her youthful voice. She was super bad at hiding things. Gwen (like the donor before her) wasn't made for lying.] Did you have a good weekend? [She added, her interest super genuine.] I bet it's super different here from New York.
