Hunter looked from the machine to the attendant, and back again. At first he was frustrated, but then he shook his head for a second, controlling the emotion. Then he blinked hard enough to crimp both lashes and laughed abruptly. Like a cough. "Isn't this your job? What do they pay you for, if you can't fix the machine?"
Him laughing wasn't part of the plan, like he hadn't actually planned on having a conversation with the new guy. People like this didn't stay. Rich and clean; they got bored.
Hunter squinted at him. Clean, maybe, but not rich. Dude looked young. "Yeah. It gets cleaner with soap, if you have it."
