Re: quicklog: cat, matt, steve
[Unaware of the fates of Bob or Old Madge, Cat looked up when Matt crouched in front of her. She recognized his voice. She wasn't so far gone that she had trouble with that. She blinked mossy eyes slowly, her lashes dark against skin pale from blood loss. Show me, he said, but it wasn't strictly necessary. She was bleeding onto the floor where she sat, the puddle thick and black in the server room's darkness. But the thing connected from her thigh to a new, makeshift port in the server farmer, that was pumping some kind of goop into her. Though where it had acquired whatever was pumping? Who knew. Maybe it was from the gel that was feet thick in the corners of the room. Maybe it was from the dead bodies that oozed onto the floor. Regardless, Cat had no idea what was going on with her body, and she couldn't answer Matt, even if she wanted to.
So it was a very good thing that Stevie showed up when he did.
She smiled lazily, that cat's smile that said she had no worries and no hurries.] Neither of you know how to listen. [But the teasing faded away a moment later, and more than a hint of serious flooded mossy green lit by surreal blue glow.] Is it bad? [She could hear Steve giving orders to tie her thigh off, and Cat had been in enough battles to know that could be a dangerous injury. Figured, and wouldn't it be just her luck to die like this?] Asking for help isn't my forte. [She managed to get a little more purr into that.
She couldn't feel her thigh being tied off, which she thought was likely terrible.] From what I can tell? They don't change if they aren't dead, so we're in the clear. [She lifted a hand and snapped her fingers, as if it was easy as that. But, conversely, immediately after, she turned her gun and held it out to Matt. Whatever Stevie was about to do? Whatever he was distracting her from - or trying to? She didn't think she should be holding a readied weapon for it.] Alright. Get it over with.
[Around them, light faded and died, and Cat was cognizant enough to understand that. And, possibly, she reached for whatever living person was closest in the absolute darkness, just to ensure she was alive, and that they were there. Unfortunately, the pain in her leg came in quick, like something sinking its teeth into her, and she reached for whatever was causing the bite and yanked at the cord with a hiss.]
