Re: quicklog ; steph/eddie -- tethys lockdown.
[Eddie tilted his head to the side and almost asked her if she trusted him. He wouldn't blame her if she didn't. Not just because of the ex-husband stuff or his track record of being less than truthful most of the time. But, it would have hurt him if she didn't trust his judgement, he wasn't going to lie about that. Her blue eyes went hard with worry, like she was trying to make up her mind and then he saw that familiar lightness. Hope, trust. All the stuff she saw in him back when no one else would. He smiled and nodded.] Look, even if this bird is secretly taking me over or wants to kill me in my sleep, at least we get a good couple of hours left right? It's better than being meat chunks on the floor next to Dane.
[He grimaced because this whole Tethys thing really blew up in his face fast and he wrapped his fingers around her hand and squeezed it. Was it more as a comfort for her or for him? He didn't want to say.] Hmm. I think she only talks to me and, even then not much. Well, I always wanted to be Walt Disney and now I have my own cartoon bird. Not quite a mouse, but it'll do. [He leaned his cheek against her hand and then quickly turned to kiss her palm like it was very innocent. He leaned back against the wall and dropped both hands to his side. Exhaustion from all of it finally hitting him.] I'm sorry for accidentally dragging you into this. If they locked this place down, it's only a matter of hours before they try to gas us. [He was smiling, because lethal gas was dime a dozen in New Jersey.]
