Re: eddie/steph log: waffles
Steph gave Another Look. I know what I'm talking about, the Look said. Her mouth flattened and her blues flickered with a lick of good humor. She didn't say anything more, but he knew that she didn't approve of this sort of attitude. If anyone deserved to be happy from back home, it was him. And? She had all the faith that he'd find someone spend his life with. Maybe it wasn't Muerte, but this town was full of people. New people without the baggage of home dragging on behind them. Or, maybe even someone with baggage that was willing to help carry his, too.
While trying her hardest not to mull on Eddie's love life, she looked over at him and caught his lingering gaze. Her cheeks went pink, eyes flickering down at her plate. And then, she laughed, and the moment was done. "He's not my boyfriend." She tossed another tiny piece of bacon at him before putting the rest in her mouth. Blink, blink, and she blushed again. "I missed you, too," she said softly. She wanted to say more, but what was there to actually say at the end of the day? Everything important was said as she looked over at him, blues warm and calm. Like she hadn't just gone through hell again. Like he helped her forget everything that had happened.
"I will. I'll give her an extra long squeeze hug courtesy of Edison Nelson." The blonde shoved more waffle in her mouth, cheeks puffing out because of all the food. She made sure to chew most of it before answering him. "I wish that my healing was still around and that it worked on me." Swallow, mug in hand, sip. Her eyebrows rose. "You actually want me to stay here? Well. Not here here, obviously. But carnival here?" she asked, hand waving at the room at large. Still a little shocked that he wanted anything to do with her at all, let alone have the chance of running into her constantly.
