Re: eddie/steph log: waffles
Eddie shot her a smirk when she promised that someone, somewhere would love him and he couldn't keep himself from shaking his head. "Well, if you find her, do let me know." He was sad, but he wasn't heartbroken anymore. Those first few months Muerte came back to Repose ripped him apart, made him someone he didn't even recognize and he only recently found his footing again. The birdhouse in his soul had been stomped on, so now he had to slowly rebuild it. A little piece of recycled redwood here. A nice nest of pillow stuffing there. Maybe a little paint. Someday, he'd have it as good as new. Still alone, but at least good as new.
He looked at Stephanie for a little longer than he should have and then busied himself with the waffles. "I'd ask you about you and your godly boyfriend, but honestly I don't want to hear it." Eddie said with a sip of coffee and a taste of dry humor in his voice. "I missed you and hearing that anyone else makes you happy is going to drive me nuts." He smiled, though.
Eddie bit into his last piece of bacon, savoring each crunchy piece and sat back in his chair. "Sasha and I were supposed to track down a Nazi, but Tethys has been working me to the bone. Go give her a hug for me." Eddie stabbed a piece of waffle and then waved it at her. "And, now we need to talk about you. A) We can't trust the hospital, so you should start seeing my carnival doctor. He's great. Trust me. B) I need to set up security around wherever you want to live. I'd rather you stay at the carnival so the clowns could keep an eye out for trouble, but I know that's asking a little much."
