At about 2:45 a.m. the night after Mal installs the cameras at Alex's trailer, this unholy abomination bursts through the door, for all the world like, well, she's taking the stage on Broadway. She elaborately deposits a few little trinkets in the same spot she has left everything else that week, then somehow turns a neat double-cartwheel down the cramped center walkway of the trailer. She looks directly into the camera above Alex's bed, gives it a wink and a wave, and then, it's not the camera that fuzzes with static, but sort of reality itself, blurring for just a moment.

And then it's just Alex standing there, looking confused and upset as he sees the pile on the counter has grown larger. He picks through it for a moment, body language defeated, and then heads out the door, already grabbing a cigarette out of the pack he pulls from his pocket.]
