Re: Carnival: Kyle & Meredith
Kyle paused, hesitating with one hand still pushing back the flap of the tent as he took in the figure before him. It was the bandages that caught her eye. Blind. The realisation passed through his mind, together with sorrow, an empathic flash and the feeling of an instantaneous crumbling of his entire world that he felt would be his if he ever lost his sight. Outwardly, he just bit his lip, not saying a word about it. Not wanting to be rude.
"Hello," he said, his voice soft, if not quiet, as he stepped inside. "The sign - if said that you told fortunes?" He didn't know if he even believed in this kind of thing. Or if he really wanted to know what his future held. Maybe if he didn't believe, it didn't really matter if he wanted to know or not. He could view it mostly like one did a trip to the theatre. Entertainment - reality was left at the door. Well worth the price, but not worth losing your soul over.
