Oh, she felt that nervousness, that feeling that spread throughout the room, energy that almost vibrated even as he tried to hold it back. She didn't comment on it, because really, it was quite normal. Some people didn't know how to approach her, or how to approach things like this in general, so all she could do was try to greet them with warmth and sincerity to ease their nerves.
"It works however you wish it to." She began quietly, her own hands folded together in front of her, atop the table cloth. There was no polish on her nails, neatly trimmed but dark beneath them with dirt. "Most people begin with asking a question. Something you'd like to know. Something that you're curious about, perhaps, and we can go from there." Meredith unlaced her fingers and extended a hand towards him, her palm face up, fingers relaxed. "Might I take your hand?" In truth, the physical connection made hearing much easier, more intense, and if they were willing to allow the contact, then Meredith had no issue with taking slight advantage of it.
