Re: quicklog: Atticus, Casper, Carver, Michael, Will
[Will actually touching Carver was a bad idea for a list of reasons, not least of which being the Holy Spirit smiting the man for being an easy host for demons. The last thing Carver needed was for one of his high school friends to explode in a bright light in the middle of a bar in front of Michael and Atticus. It wasn't personal, it was chemical and Carver knew Will just didn't have any idea. When did he ever?
Saint Cecilia sang a warning in his head like she was locked in room of hot steam and Carver surgically moved away from Will without making a big deal out of it. Like someone literally cutting a strand of hair in two. He made it look like he was going for a nearby stool and pulled it up near Atticus once the teams were clear.
He watched how the game was played, the spatial awareness involved and decided silently that he could probably do well. He took a pool cue and leaned on it as he sat on the stool, reaching for a shot of whiskey. Carver had no problem living the stereotype that Catholics liked to drink.] I've been living in Rome. Working for the Vatican. Was assigned here to help the church. [He didn't include information about slaying demons, hearing Saints or spying on the Bellatora. He figured that was probably implied.]
