Re: In-person: Cris/Sam
When you're feelin' bad, you can get like that. [It's honest, but the way he says it makes it obvious he don't think it's a bad thing.] But, it's diff'rent than Lou and Iris, huh? No sé. For them, it... ain't even actually 'bout takin' responsibility or being accountable for nothin'. I think we all get like that sometimes, martyring ourself, 'cause ain't it better to think you fucked up, like so many things could ever be in your control, than not. Pero, it's different when it's a lifestyle. When it's a commitment, not even for the self-loathing, but for the attention and pity it brings. [He don't know if that makes sense, and the clasha his brows together in black is evidence he's just talking without thinking. But, the stormcloud there eases and he smiles, at the hiccup and at Joey.] Lo sé. [He ain't smug, just happy in a snap-second.] She loves you too. [He wiggles his finger in the baby's grip. Her skin's lighter than his, softer. She's untouched, unscarred.
Him and Sam ain't, but they made her, huh? Something about that is beautiful to Cris.
Sam is too. Her thighs in slow reveal, thick and a creamy white. The drag in the guy's gaze, sluggish, is telling. He's looking at her with a whet appetite, low, lingering lashes. He smiles.] You would feel bad. Me? I just wish I wouldn'tna stopped. [It ain't real Catholica him, but oh well. He sucks thoughtful on his bottom lip as he stares at Sam. The scenta lilac climbs up her calves and he looks down at her boots, then back up.] Me too. Remember that ferris wheel we went on? [His smile slides the scale into a sharp-toothed smirk. But, he grows contemplative again.] I got a' ATV. We could baptize ourselves as locals and go muddin', huh? [He touches the daisy-soul toesa her boots.] Put Joey in the drawer—[He don't even thinka how ridiculous that sounds. Instead, he looks around quick for his shirt.] Come hit the bag with me for a second. I know it ain't nothin' crazy, pero—[He shrugs. He likes to sweat.] We never did finish your lesson, ¿recuerdes? [Lou, Daniel, Iris. He was getting to them. What nobody else seemed to realize was you hadta to take things slow with Sam and come at 'em from an angle where she wouldn't feel like she was drowning. After all, an ocean looks different from a pier than it does when you're trying to tread water.]
