What: Meeting Anthony's car, aka Stella.
Where: Outside of The Senator Theater to start.
When: After their conversation over the missing keys.
Warnings/Rating: Don't think so, but will update if necessary.
This wasn't something that Anthony generally did - he wasn't the type to offer up his precious car for someone else to drive. But Sasha had managed to catch him on a good day, while being in a good mood, and he had figured why the hell not. While he wasn't by any means a shut-in that refused to talk to people, he wasn't exactly as social as he used to be once upon a time, so this was his way of maybe trying something new. Making some connections wasn't such a bad thing, right? After a year of living in town, maybe it was about time that he'd try to get out of his comfort zone. Especially if his comfort zone primarily consisted of a diner or a bar after work before heading home for the night.
Work had been a blur for him today, busy with formulas and tests and ways to try and perfect a way to improve muscle repair in old injuries. It would have been easy to just stay at the lab for a few more hours and keep working, because Anthony had a tendency to lose himself in his work whenever he was too focused on a problem, but he was a man of his word. He wasn't going to leave Sasha hanging, so once it was time to head out, he ditched the lab coat for his leather jacket and headed straight to his car. The drive back to town was made all too quickly, more out of his need for speed than to be punctual as AC/DC blared through his stereo. His baby - Stella hugged each curve like a champ, the way she accelerated making his tense muscles relax as he drove, and by the time he pulled up in front of the theater he looked as at ease as he was going to get.
After deactivating the mechanism that allowed him to use the clutch without straining his leg too much, Anthony got out of the car and walked towards The Senator. The familiar dull ache of his left leg was felt the second he stood, but he just tried to ignore it as best as he could. There was a moment when the paranoid side of him wondered if this was a good idea, letting someone other than himself drive his car, but he didn't let that stop him or slow him down as he walked inside to look for Sasha.
He was a man of his word, after all.
