Re: log: dahl/connie at B&B
Dahlia was right, this wasn't rocket science. It was WAY worse. Time travel + spooky = some next level shit. She watched in horror as her friend experienced the haunted house by herself without anyone to hold onto (even if Dahl was always too proud to even lean on someone's shoulder) and Connie knew she had to do something. Being stuck between time and dimensions felt like regretting that extra hour in the ball pit. It felt like dying alone in something so stupid, so ridiculous she wished she never had these powers. But, that feeling didn't last long. The ability to warp time was part of her now and she could use it to save her friend whether her dad liked it or not.
She felt herself zip around the B&B, between every room, between 2016 to 1874. She could see things that never happened, things that might happen and everything in between. Her skin melted from her bones and her eyes went blue ice hot. The feeling of her dad listening, of watching her every move made everything heavy, it made her want to just sleep in the coziness of nothing (no time, no space, nothing), but she resisted. She fought to find the road, the car racing towards death and she wrapped her arms around Dahlia and pulled.
Everything went black and all Connie could hear was the friendly buzz of her refrigerator in the warmth of the Gunster family home. Her mind filled with memories of pancakes, video games and small town comforts. She opened her eyes, holding her hand in front of her face to make sure she wasn't skeletal anymore and sighed at the relief of seeing skin on those bones.
"Dahlia!" Connie sat up suddenly, remembering what had just gone down and turned to see her friend laid out on the living room floor next to her. "Hey! It's okay! They- I mean. Wow sorry I might have snuck some shrooms into your spaghetti my bad my bad." Connie recovered quickly and rubbed the back of her head with a guilty smile. The spooky slacker looked totally normal. Regular old Connie in her pink slippers, oversized blue jacket and stupid jack-o-lantern smile. If her eyes were slightly glowing blue? That was just the tail end of the "shrooms" right?
