Re: log: dahl/connie at B&B
There was a blue light that sometimes appeared in the very corner of Dahl's vision. The kind of light that was gone the second she tried to look for it. So, maybe it wasn't there. Maybe it was? It only seemed to make the place creepier than it needed to be. The B&B was quiet, no more invisible feet on floorboards and the entire building seemed to be holding its breath. What was going to happen next? A mix of science and ghosts was a bad idea, Connie had said so herself, and she was one big science experiment gone super, super wrong.
But, Dahlia didn't know that. Connie never told her about time travel or why her dad left or that big machine in the Gunster garage. It was better that way because Dahl didn't do so well with this kind of stuff and if it was too much for her, Connie would lose the best friend she ever had.
The B&B wanted to sink its teeth into that secret. How could it resist?
A giggle sounded from down the hallway, in the room where a kid went missing after playing with a dollhouse that didn't even exist. One of the closet doors opened slowly and a blue light the color of stovetop burner shined out into the hallway. It was a lure, like an anglerfish trying to catch deep sea prey.
"Hey, I told you to use the key!" Connie's voice came from over Dahl's shoulder, but she wasn't there and the hallway was completely empty. It was important to note that her voice sounded metallic, like her personality got uploaded onto a computer program.
