Re: Eames/Rey/Atticus/Manning: the B&B
Listened. Was still waiting on Manning to chime in, since didn't think this was precisely a democracy; felt better if everyone agreed on this clock thing. But didn't know if this thing would affect them after. Letter hadn't said it would, but didn't want to risk it. Sure, was lazy, but also tried to be practical. Wasn't scientific in this, despite his tendency toward academia; didn't have any interest in trying to understand the clock, though suspected some out there would want precisely that.
But waited on Manning.
In the meantime, limped around the desk and went to a cupboard behind it. Unlocked it with a key pulled from his pocket. Was filled with old books stacked haphazardly alongside old parchment scrolls, bottles in dark amber, and a few locked, small jewel chests. Pulled out a heavy, antique paperweight, which fit in his palm. Marble and solid, he walked back around the desk and held the paperweight out to Rey. After all, if the thing was going to be destroyed in the circle, it would need to be her who did it. If she even needed something heavy; had a feeling she might not.
