Protective circles he knew, in a round about and distant way, a protection for things he didn't need protecting against, and usually erected for things different than himself. But they were along the lines of iron and horseshoes, which he did himself. They all had their things. No eyes were batted about the vague 'assemble at a distance' but those with abilities both like and unlike his own were not unknown either, though he was a touch curious about how the assembly would happen.
Removing his own piece from his pocket, he strode over and set it down neatly inside the circle. "If only it'd work if I said that," he replied. "I could try abracadabra, but that only works on my kids when they aren't looking." He shrugged his massive shoulders and grinned. "I'm willing to wait and see." If something was up, they'd find him harder to kill than most.
