Re: Kit/Mari/Dinah/Cris: the convenience store
Dinah was on her third maduro as the others talked. She looked touch more relaxed as she silently ate, and yes, she did notice Cris cut off the endearment. It was appreciated, silently. Bringing attention to it felt awkward, even though she was unaware of how she was making Kit feel--sorry, Kit. When the mention of outside was brought up she swallowed the sweetly battered plantain quickly. The food which had nicely settled in her stomach suddenly felt heavier, a little lead ball, but she took in a breath and straightened herself up as much as she could. Okay, she could do this. She didn't like it, but she could. She could, she could. So, she followed after Mari to slip out the door into the sun, squinting her eyes in the process. Bright, pretty, hot. Dinah crossed her arms and waited for the others to shuffle out.
