Re: log: hospital - sam/louis
Sam laughed loud when Lou promised the baby future earplugs. "You can always get her like noise-canceling headphones. IDK. Play some Baby Einstein or something instead," she suggested, but she didn't feel bad. She wasn't worried about stuff like noise or what the kid saw. "You woulda hated growing up with us, Lou. We had one fucking room, and we all shared a bed. Us kids were in the living room, yeah? Moms and Pops were in the room, and we all heard them fucking or whatever. And look how good I turned out," she finished, flashing him a smile that was ALL teeth and wide as could fucking be.
She glanced down at her fingers, mashed-potato covered, when he kept going on about utensils, and she rolled her eyes. "Seriously, Lou. How do you even HAVE sex? It's messy, yeah? I would totes eat mashed potato off a cock and not care." Which, yeah, wasn't even for shock value or nothing.
But, right, Lin. D. People who didn't treat him good, and he wasn't wrong about deserving to be treated right. "Yeah, yeah, ok. I can't disagree about you being treated good by people who care about you. I would be all for that. IDK. I just think you got a lot to give, and I wish I could see you married off or something." Because not everyone WANTED to be with someone forever, but Lou did. She could tell, yeah? Everyone could fucking tell. But, yeah, begging wasn't good, and she couldn't argue with that either. "But no begging. Yeah, don't beg. Make him come to you," she suggested, and she pointed at the baby. "Burp her. If you just turn her over on your knees, it's easiest. Make sure you put the towel down or whatever." Because Sam was busy trying to scoop coleslaw up with experimental fingertips.
"You always worry. I think that's a family thing, tho. Except for Shane. It totes fucking skipped Shane." Her smile was fond. She missed her brother, yeah? It made her think of Joey - the Joey that was gone - and she got a little somber for a second, blinking damp blue eyes. "I'll hold you to the day-to-day thing," she added after the damp was gone. "Moments, yeah? That's how I call them. Cris hates it." Her smile brightened again, sun from behind the clouds just that fucking quick.
