Dietre
Dietre insisted that Hugh come to Adrian’s place to receive his gift, which was a short, delicately romantic piece he had composed for the man. He wanted Hugh to hear it on a piano for the first time rather than a keyboard. Afterward, he gave Hugh a CD recording of the piece so that he can listen to it whenever he’d like.
The pair arrived together, and Dietre was polite and pleasant to the other attendants, but generally reserved (as is his way.) When Hugh was not by his side, he was shy and occasionally drifted off to take breaks from the party by spending time with the dogs. That isn’t to say he didn’t enjoy himself, seeing Hugh happy makes him happy, and Hugh certainly seemed happy.
Perhaps it goes without saying, but he stayed after the party and, of course, spent the night.
