Re: Easy + Audrey: the Neighborhood
She didn't know either, what she meant. Easy judged that, whether it was true or it wasn't. He thought it was. Which meant she talked, even if she didn't know what she was saying. Talking without knowing what it was you said was real dangerous in the wrong place. Didn't know why a demon went about it neither. But that was up to her.
Perfectly good books. He'd seen a sign outside a store, one that said 'books'. "Those could go to the store," he said, looking at the books in the trash-can. "Seems to me if you're done with 'em." Didn't know if she was the reading kind, as a demon. She flashed cash and Easy didn't bat an eyelid. Didn't bat an eyelid at the stare upwards. Didn't know if it was intended to be seductive: safe to say it wasn't having that intended effect.
Easy wouldn't have known what she was there for if she said it aloud. Looked at the cash and counted it. Carefully, matter-of-factly. People were people and demons were demons. "You want me to start in tomorrow?"
