Re: The Neighbourhood: Billy/Alex
No, that might have been a bit much for a light-and-pleasant evening out, and Alex isn't too keen on getting into the details with Billy. He knows, has always known, that it's not his fault, but that's never stopped him from blaming himself or from feeling the shame of it.
"Yeah," he agrees through a sigh. "Fuck," he adds, like in reiteration. He's a little surprised at the shot, but he's not going to turn it down. Billy might be right about that much. Actually, Billy is right. He loves his life in Repose but so often it feels like he's jumping from crisis to crisis - a new power here, a fucked up town thing there, and now this thing with Audrey hitting him right where he lives, at the corner of memory loss and friendship.
He picks up the shot glass, the tap of metal on glass as the iron ring on his finger, the skull with the amethyst eyes, clinks against the shot glass. He knows he's like supposed to slam it back or something and this is Alex who weighs all of 120 and even though he's safe as can be with Billy, knows he shouldn't if he wants to remember who he is tomorrow. "Thanks dude," he murmurs, and sips down about a third of the contents of the glass. It's..."Augh," he kind of makes a noise and a face to go with it, but then laughs. Paint thinner probably tastes like this? "God damn, dude." He chases it with another bite of pizza. He's gonna go easy on the stuff. "Just wish I could do something to help but...like...not really what I'm good at."
