Re: The Neighbourhood: Billy/Alex
There were precious few things Alex had appreciated about Billy going to ground - specifically, the few things were the hours he could pick up at the comic shop so that he didn't have to stew in his anxiety over Audrey being missing. Because needless to say, that sucked. As much as it had, though, even after she'd been found, he'd only gotten to discover that it was equally worse to have her back, but with all her memories of their friendship wiped away. Not only did he feel bad for her just on a human level, but for himself, selfish as it felt: it was hard to talk to her. It hurt him, talking to her and trying to explain what their friendship had been.
All that being said, he very much needs a night to just fuck around and hang out with Billy. Which, as he walks over, is something he realizes they've really never done, and he's looking forward to it. Being that the store is small, and Billy doesn't work there a whole lot, their work shifts never overlap very much to begin with (and clearly, less as of late), but he always has fun when he's around Billy. Smiles and laughs more, feels more relaxed. It's just a good feeling; a thing that takes him back to the few good times he'd had back home with Luke and Ben.
He puts out his cigarette near the curb and walks up to the door, pulling off his now-rather-ubiquitous seafoam green headphones which have been pumping a steady stream of Madonna into his ears on the walk over, probably due to his outfit: he's in a few layers, as usual, an open blue hoodie over an open blue plaid shirt which reveals this amazing shirt underneath, which someone had so callously consigned to a thrift-store existence before Alex happened along. He smiles when Billy answers the door, head-toss of hair out of eyes, and realizes he's actually super happy to see his friend. Okay, and there's pizza, and he's hungry, so imminent pizza does play a role in that smile. "Umm, yeah, call it that and like might be hard to leave, y'know?"
