Re: [Road: Holly NW and Audrey C]
He wasn't wrong. It was terrifying. It was that long, dark hall, and there was a way out but you couldn't get to it. All there was? Was fear interlaced with numbness. The tears had mostly stopped at least, her eyes were still bloodshot, but that was to be expected. Oddly enough, his talking, even if he felt clueless--it helped some.
"Audrey?" It seemed a little familiar. It didn't feel like clay on her tongue, so that was a start. She sniffed as the hiccups died down. She was tired, very much so, but the thought of sleep kept her back straight and her eyes focused on the passing lights. "...who are you?"
She glanced over at him, then back to the road. He knew her, obviously, but who was he? He had seemed so angry earlier. Had she done something bad? She looked down at her arms. Maybe she had. "...I---" she shook her head. "I got away? I think." She thought. Maybe. Oh, that somersaulting in her stomach. Away from what? The dirt? Had someone buried her?
