Re: [Road: Holly NW and Audrey C]
Sorry, Holly. The tears just kept coming, but she was doing her best to keep silent and when the car sped up with one lead food on the accelerator her hands clenched around her seatbelt for dear life, but she kept her eyes closed, for all that she was she kept them shut and willed herself to shrink, to disappear, to not see the hall or feel the mud or taste the dirt.
When he asked her about her name?
All she got in response? Was a big, fat, nothing. Black. Everything was black and---
"No," she responded and that was it. She didn't. She didn't know her name, where she was, who she was with---she had no idea that a town had been looking for her. That people saw her as weak, or a victim, the slate was wiped clean at least for now, right? Memories just didn't up and leave. They came back, didn't they? A whole person doesn't just suddenly wake up in a field not knowing---
No. Crawling through earth. Fighting. Fighting so hard--she rubbed at her arm, where trails of red lines delved into her skin--nails, and under her own was blood and raw knuckles. Fighting. Fighting.
