Re: [Road: Holly NW and Audrey C]
She did continue to cry, but at least it was silent, save for the few hiccups escaping her. Her mouth was dry, her throat was raw, and she was terrified, but at least he wasn't prying about what she didn't know. Because honestly? She didn't know a lot at this point. It was as if there was a door down a black hall, and she could see the outline of light at the end, but every time she got close enough to reach for the handle the door pulled further and further away; the hall would just become darker, deeper and thinner, boxing her in. She wasn't even sure if she even wanted to chase the door anymore.
The tears were dribbling down her neck and now there were definite clean streaks from her blotchy eyes, over the hills of her cheeks and grooving through the valley of her throat.
Hiccup, hiccup. She held her breath trying to silence them and kept her eyes closed. She didn't want to look at the man who was driving, she...she didn't even know him, and she got into his car. She just knew she had been gone, right? And they were heading to a hospital? Something made her stomach churn at the thought. It felt like there was ichor rolling around in her gut, swimming, as she had swallowed earth itself.
"Is...is there water?" Small, so incredibly tiny. She wanted the taste out of her mouth. It felt like she hadn't drank in...oh, god, she couldn't remember that either.
