Re: log: ren/adrian - ren's place
"Agreed," Ren stuck his helmet on and climbed onto the bike, and stopped to let Adrian clamber on behind him, with a second helmet available for him. "There's kind of noone else I'd rather do something a little troubling with," he gave a quick lopsided grin at Adrian as he started the bike.
And frankly, anything sounded interesting. Maybe the abandoned amusement park as he thought about it. They could stop, get some beers, and then creep in. It seemed like the sort of place you could lose yourself in - not unlike the forests where they'd once both demonstrate the possibilities of their powers to each other. And the amusement park might not be exactly that, but it felt like you could be safe enough to do something alittle wild there, and maybe they both needed that.
Between trying to work through the Obscurus, and between Rey's showing up, Ren felt as if everything had been muted. The initial irritation and frustration he'd felt with her showing up had slid into something that wasn't really anything. And, if he were being honest, he felt as if there'd been a lot of 'wasn't really anything' in his life of recent. Even with his friends, he couldn't think of the last time something had felt real, or exhilarting, so when he kicked his heels up, and took off on the motorcycle with Adrian, it felt like breaking a cycle he hadn't really wanted to slip into.
The helmet might keep the wind from really running through his hair, but it still whipped the longer strands against his cheek, and it still could be felt on his face and wrapping the jacket on his arms. About halfway to the Capital he pulled them over to a gas station and paused. "I'm thinking let's get drinks, and maybe some really terrible food, and then I like that amusement park idea."
