Re: Audrey's house: Hugh & Rafe
Hugh didn't step into the room further. There... was really no need. And if there was something in there that would solve where Audrey went, then he'd leave it for the police to find, he supposed. Because there was no way to step into the bedroom and not step on something or disturb something, and at this point, there was no outcome that he could think of that would be normal. Maybe if she'd gone to her parents, and whatever had happened here... had just happened. But that didn't seem likely, even if he had no explanation for whatever had happened here.
And it seemed neither did Rafe.
"She has to be alright, please," Hugh managed although he couldn't have really said who he was asking. He didn't know if the fact that Rafe didn't see any blood gave him any hope or not. Truthfully it seemed as if it could still be there, although he supposed that it wasn't immediately visible considering the absolute terror ofthe room was maybe something.
He reached in his pocket and pulled out his phone to snap a few pictures of the mess in front of him. "She didn't do this - it's way beyond anything that is possibly normal, but I'll check with Hannah and maybe see if she has any more details about what they heard. She was supposed to be safe at my place." The defeat of not being able to find her tasted bitter in his throat. The last time someone he knew had gone missing they'd turned up dead in a river, murdered by a co-star he'd respected and admired. That wasn't going to happen this time, he told himself firmly. This wasn't that and Audrey couldn't be gone. "I'll call Zee," he sighed, sliding the phone back into his pocket. "Make sure she hasn't heard anything. But..." He knew the answer before he called. Felt it heavy in his chest. She wouldn't have heard anything, which left the heavy agreement with Rafe's statement. "But, yeah."
