Re: In-person: Amy M/Si M
She knew Si. She knew him like she knew herself, and she knew he would want something tonight, something to make this go away. She didn't think she could make that not be there, that want, and she didn't think her presence would stop it. She knew better, because there had been years and years and years, but that didn't mean she wasn't going to try. She knew she wouldn't be sleeping tonight, but that was okay, and she could block the door, right? He might get angry, and he might beg and cajole, but Si would never hurt her. But she knew. She knew, because she was familiar with the way he was over there, jittery, fingers flexing, and she had a moment where she wished she would've lied and told him nothing had happened, that nothing was wrong. Just a blink of a moment, but a moment all the same.
"Yeah," she repeated when he agreed. "Somewhere by your place," she added. There were a lot of bad motels between here and there, and she didn't want them to end up in one of those. "You and me. Somewhere quiet and good, and we can watch bad television and keep the lights on, take a hot bath, and it'll be okay," she promised, and she squeezed his fingers again. "Okay?"
