Re: In-person: Amy M/Si M
He was supposed to be the one to keep her grounded, and he knew she was doing the work right now. Every single cell in his body was screaming at him to get as far away as he could from Repose. It was survival instinct compounded on trauma on trauma on trauma on mental illness on trauma. Si was doing his best to calm himself down, counting under his breath as they went, because, Amy was right. She was okay. They were okay. It didn't matter what had happened. Nothing else mattered, except that they were okay. He knew he was one bad thought away from a full-blown anxiety attack, so he counted. He flexed his fingers in Amy's grip, he flexed his fingers on the wheel. He felt the seat beneath him. The music. He listened to the song and he tried to believe it.
When she spoke again, it took Si an extra half second to notice, but he did notice. "Yeah." That would be best. Somewhere far away. With no history and no hunger. He would want to leave. He might even try. When she was in bed or asleep. To find something to calm him down faster. But, he wasn't going to think about that. He tried a half smile for his sister, but it didn't come out as well as he imagined it did. "You and me, right?" He exhaled.
