Re: [Woods: Atticus & Eames]
"Can't consider it walking off the path if there's no path," he said idly. Was a simple enough statement, one offered with some grin, hands in his pockets and a lazy stance. Was just beyond the yard. Far enough that he wasn't encroaching. Near enough that he didn't need to raise his voice. Was comfortable. Looked it. Wasn't the type of man who minded talking to strangers. Wasn't the type of man who minded talking. Had nowhere to be in a hurry. Managed his life so he wasn't demanded of, wasn't depended on. Worked well for him.
Chuckled. "Have a lot of time too, but still don't have the patience to whittle. Have to be able to sit still and focus. Only thing that I can do that with is a book. Has always been the case," he said openly. "Since I was a kid." Wasn't actually sure about how much opener living an isolated island life had made him, but suspected it had made a significant difference. Had heard enough about his old self's inability to communicate to assume he'd done a fair bit of self-isolating in his later years.
Wasn't deliberately attempting to counter people's assumptions about him. Wasn't trying to change the future. But still offered his name easily. "Atticus. Good to meet you...?"
