Kit didn't know the game. That was the thing. He'd begun with an intention however small and limited in scope and he'd ended with something quite else and he wasn't displeased because Kit wasn't that sort of man. He didn't have winning grins, however. He had the ones he had, and he smiled because Tory was so pleased with himself, and he raised both eyebrows at the proposed behavior which seemed a touch dramatic.
"Can we find a medium ground?" Kit inquired, faintly. "Like, perhaps, suggesting we do something different instead of the er, drama of ditching you at the curb?" He didn't feel pressure, or at least, Kit didn't look like he did.
