log: connie/will mourn the hopefully temporary closing of crust & crumb Who: Connie/Will Where: Secondhand books/Coffee When: recently What: crying over no muffins Warnings: nerds
Connie was one of those customers who only showed up once a month and then fell into a hole of regret when something closed without her knowing. Crust & Crumb was a pretty good bakery with great banana nut muffins and the absence of them only made her crave them more. Why didn't she go sooner? How did she miss the February seasonal specials? Why was the universe being so mean rn?? The girl with wild white hair in that obligatory giant blue jacket donked her head on the darkened bakery's door and then sadly shuffled down the street towards the coffee shop.
Once there, she made a big show of ordering coffee like she was probably dying in a few hours due to a lack of a morning muffin. Like having coffee was a painful necessity for her. The barista was only slighty, slightly amused. Once coffee was purchased and delivered, she shuffled her way to one of the tables, set her coffee down and then stretched her arms across the surface of the round cafe table.
"No muffins for Connie." She mumbled and someone eyed her like she was a crazy hobo lady. "What is this world coming to?" Another woe-is-me sigh as she turned the coffee cup on the table with her fingers slowly. "Who's going to start a petition for a donut shop?" She asked with a light tap of her fist on the table. Everyone did their very best to ignore her. Most of the residents already knew to stay away from the spooky slacker chick.
