Re: Dietre A./Hugh C.: On the patio Music had started low in the background automatically when they'd gotten in the car, and Hugh had left it, even if it wasn't necessarily probably Dietre's specifical taste or even what he was really in the mood for. It was quiet, just barely playing as they pulled out towards Dietre's house.
Repose wasn't so large that it'd take much time to get from Hugh's to Dietre's, and Hugh was surprisingly quiet as well. It wasn't an uncomfortable quiet, which was nice. Hugh didn't feel the need to fill the space with noise which was perhaps telling of the level of friendship the two had begun to reach. Maybe even as telling as the fact that Dietre had slept over even if that had been just bed sharing and nothing more - and maybe the fact that it had been bed-sharing and nothing more was, like the comfortable silence, also telling. But Hugh found himself uncertain of what any of it meant, exactly.
But Dietre's words made him smile, and he glanced over briefly at the man beside him. "You should definitely bring Sieglinde next time," Hugh responded softly. It was definitely easier to not second guess everything. He liked Dietre staying over, and the dogs got on just fine, and they could sit out on the patio and enjoy coffee leisurely while the dogs played around maybe, and it was a really nice picture in Hugh's mind. Did it have to mean something more intensely?
