Re: Dietre A./Hugh C.: On the patio
Hugh considered. "Maybe we can just send her home with some doggie treats?" He suggested with a quick grin, as he started a second cup of coffee for himself. Between the coffee, and the water he'd drank the night before, he seemed to have mostly have avoided the headache - at least one of any strength and he hoped the food would push away the rest of the remnants of it.
Thankfully, it mostly did, and it was nice to sit talking to Dietre with the frittata and coffee in the morning. As nice as it had been the last time Dietre had slept over, only this time Hugh didn't have his neck complaining from sleeping on a couch. And frankly he'd take the edges of a hangover headache over neck pain. It was more tolerable and it felt like something he could better deal with.
And he and Dietre could talk a bit more, and Hugh could wonder if something like this would be nice all of the time, even if that was maybe getting ahead of himself. Sometimes he still wasn't certain. Dietre was shy about affection, it seemed, and while Hugh thought he probably was interested, Hugh didn't really entirely want to put himself out there again. He'd been burned the last couple of times- both cases stating he cared, and both cases sort of spectacularly not working. But having Dietre over even just as a friend, really was nice.
"I'm glad you stayed though," he said as he finished up the rest of the coffee and moved to stand up. "Sieglinde may actually kill me for keeping you if I don't let you go," he teased.
