Re: In-person: Damian/Burden
Burden was not insane either. Damian had also decided this, and he would not be convinced otherwise. A large number of people in Jersey had truly suffered from such, and Damian knew this did not afflict the boy with his demon. Whatever it was, the demon, Damian had accepted it as a truth, but his own upbringing had been far from ordinary.
"What does this mean?" He asked of the admissory statement. Damian's concern about appearing to already know that which was spoken of and to not divulge his ignorance had faded—at least in the presence of Burden. It was admittedly stupid for this not to change in light of the potential betrayal, and yet... Damian glared anew at the smile that formed upon Burden's lips, then tutted. He offered no return argument. If that was how the boy felt, then fine. He smoked the claimed and conquered cigarette and would not look toward Burden. "Fine." He said it in the same tone one said 'okay,' and it did not appear to bear the connotation of annoyance or begrudging acceptance. Fine. It was fine. Okay.
