Re: [Lakeside: Hannah/Rey]
"I'll put the kettle on," Rey said agreeably, and did so, taking a moment to get all the tea things ready so when the kettle boiled and the tea was steeped, Hannah could have whatever she liked with her tea. While she bustled about, knowing that it was easier to let Hannah get whatever it was out of her system without Rey staring at her, she added, "What's on your mind? I promise, we'll find something we can do that will help."
While Rey wasn't trying to sneak into Hannah's mind or her feelings, it was hard for her to miss that Hannah was in distress. She was doing her best to project the sort of warmth and affection that Luke had used with her. She was not Luke, and would not be, but if Hannah needed a friend, Rey would do her best for Hannah, who was eccentric but no more so than Rey, and clearly a kind heart in her own way, or at least striving to be.
