[woods, after midnight: OPEN] Who: Sylvie What: Prowling the woods Where: The woods When: Just after midnight this morning Warnings/Rating: TBD
Most of the time, she could ignore it, that hunger that gnawed at her belly, that wasn't sated by a sandwich or a rare steak. And past experience had told Sylvie that if she ignored it too long, Very Bad Things were liable to happen. So those were the nights that she took to the woods, to the darkness that she could see entirely too well in. Whatever had happened to her so many months ago had changed her in ways that were still unsettling. She was fast, she could move silently through the underbrush, and her sense of smell... Well, that was starting to turn into a problem. Even the old 'vapo rub under the nose' thing wasn't enough to mask the odors from the office and the bodies that came through. But Sylvie did her best. Good thing no one expected her to wear a smile every day.
She was a silent thing in the woods, still as a statue as she watched and waited. A deer would suffice, even if she hated the taste. But it would be enough to stop the hunger, to hold it back for the time being.
She waited, and the moon started to rise high in the sky, and then out of the corner of her eye, she saw it. Movement. And she darted, zeroing in on her prey.]
