Re: time jump! adrian's place; dietre & hugh
Hugh had no difficulty switching through music on the drive back, everything from more things that were more classic, like Frank Sinatra and others that decidedly weren't, but everything they'd listened to had the distinction of being some of Hugh's favorite songs, some of them from films he loved and some of them from musicals he'd been in (or wanted to be) and those little tidbits were easy ways to fill any silences between the rest of the chit chat.
Hugh glanced around the Victorian as he came in. He knew it wasn't Dietre's house, it was a friend's house that he was staying in, but still, it was where he was living. He was distracted by Sieglinde though, and gave the dog a good deal of love and affection in greeting. "Did you think you'd been abandoned? No, we're back! And hello!"
He stood up, glanced around the room again, and slid off his own suit jacket, following Dietre's lead. He folded it and laid it over the back of the sofa next to Dietre's, and then reached for his tie to loosen it just a bit. His gaze slid over Dietre and Hugh realized that he was looking forward to trying dancing - or at least giving it a try, but that didn't mean they should start there. And after all, Hugh really did want to hear Dietre play. And he made a note that, expense aside, he was going to go over on the weekend to the restaurant some night Dietre was working so he could hear him. But for now, he had Dietre to himself, and he really did want to hear his playing.
"Well," he glanced over to Dietre at the offer and smiled, and shrugged lightly. "Why don't you play something - your choice - and then, we'll give dancing a try?"
