Re: capullo de rosa; dietre & hugh
Dietre? Make someone’s heart flutter? If he had known he’d be quite beside himself. He wouldn’t have believed it, not when his was doing some fluttering of it's own. There might have even been a flash of teeth in response to Hugh’s grin, the very widest of Dietre’s smiles. “You’ve heard right.”
“Oh, they’re just… little melodies, really.” Dietre was very modest when it came to his compositions, not so much when it came to his playing. Just because he could play well didn’t mean he could write well, in his opinion. “I’m no Mozart.” Or Chopin. Or any of the rest. “But, thank you.”
The name Jeremiah struck a bell. Dietre’s brows arched in surprise. “I think we’ve spoken on the forums a few times while you were under that name…” He searched his memory. It wasn’t just the forums, was it? He put his fork down as if that would help divert his energy into remembering. “Didn’t you… text me once? By accident?”
Saying it out loud brought it all back. Dietre let out a breath of amusement. “It was Christmas. You were drunk.” That had been a surprise, but a welcome one. He remembered how he was scared it was the man from Halloween at first. “But it was nice, I was alone that Christmas, having someone to talk to, even a drunk stranger, made me feel better.”
“We’ve known each other longer than we thought, then? That’s funny.” A sip of wine and another bold bit of flirtation badly hidden as a joke, “People will say it's fate.”
