Re: capullo de rosa; dietre & hugh
“Hm… True,” Dietre conceded. “And I’m out to dinner with a charming, well dressed man. So it isn’t all that bad then, is it?” Hugh could thank Dietre’s first glass of wine for that bit of flattery. His cheeks reddened briefly after the compliment slipped out, his smile small and embarrassed.
He got the feeling Hugh thought he was closer to Daniel than he actually was. Maybe it seemed that way because he spoke to so few people that when he mentioned one it was a notable event. “I met him on the forums.” A self deprecating sigh, his smile still lingering. “It's always on the forums for me.”
“When I said I was a pianist he became interested in my work. He seems like he would like me to focus on my own compositions. I mean, I compose, but…” He gestured with his hand as if trying to conjure the right words. “I’m not very prolific? It is not important to me to write my own music.”
“Anyway… He came to listen to me once, to offer some critique. And he generously paid for my piano to be restored. So perhaps he is a bit of a musical mentor?” He shrugged, cutting up the last of his filet. “I’m really not sure.” When he thought about it, he and Daniel had only met in person twice. The man really had been a recluse in every sense of the word.
