Re: [Woods: Gwen/Melody/The Sheriff]
[The girl with the long, thin hair, the one without even shoes, Cris was convinced she had something going on, huh? Or not going on, as it were. She seemed slow. He didn't know the kindsa things going on in the facility they had just escaped, not the particulars, so it was entirely possible, huh? That she'd had stuff done to her that rendered her dumb like this. He kept her close, 'cause he wasn't sure she'd do it herself, and he talked to Gwen as he steered the other gringa through foliage.] Alright. There's a coat there. [He jerked his chin in the directiona the thing as he holstered his flashlight and led Melody into the UTV if she let him.
He got his coat offa her and gave her onea the others before he started up the lil vehicle and with the lights off, went back the way he came. He'da liked to see, but the engine was giving them away enough as it was, and the guy was stupid and confident he could get them back on memory alone.
To his credit, he did. Back to the sidea the road, to the truck he ushered both girls into. It didn't take too long getting downtown and he had 'em at Sam's quick enough. He parked far 'nough away after dropping them in the alley he'd "met" Hunter in, before he came back and let 'em in and got 'em upstairs with Sam's heaters running high just how she liked. He offered them food, whatever, and he left a cellphone for Gwen, told her to call him if she needed anything or when Melody woke, whichever came first. He also told her not to let nobody in, to not tell nobody where 'xactly she was, just in case, and he took the key with him.
He told her too, on his way out, Jason had been looking for her, and he pointed to an old tablet on the bed, in case she wanted to let him know she was okay.
And for the sheriffa Repose, the night was just beginning.]
