Re: [Woods: Gwen/Melody/The Sheriff]
[There was movement in the woods, and Gwen was aware that it was probably some kind of search party, assuming their absence had been noted. She listened to the Sheriff talk, and she weighed options as best she could, given her current mental state and the unfamiliar situation. She found it hard to weigh pros and cons in this situation, and that deficiency was something to be considered later. But she tried, regardless, and her cornflower gaze darted toward the trees and followed the sound of snapping twigs. Ahead, there was a lightness that indicated a flashlight, or perhaps another UTV, and her gaze returned to Melody.
Melody looked like she was content to go wherever she was led, which was totally surprising to Gwen, who wasn't inclined to be super trusting after all of this. But Melody looked warmer and happier, and the noises seemed to be coming closer. Melody offered no answer, and Gwen only wasted a few more precious seconds on pondering, before making the decision herself.
She moved toward the UTV, giving Melody and the Sheriff wide berth, and she talked in a whisper as she climbed into the back of the vehicle with the kind of awkwardness that spoke of very limited physical experience with the world around her.] We'll go with you, and then we'll go to the store. We can discuss our options from there, sir. After Melody gets some rest.
