Re: [Woods: Gwen/Melody/The Sheriff]
[Melody, she wasn't ready to bolt, wasn't ready to run, and that coat that was slipped around her shoulders was warm with body heat, and she was quick to tug it around her. She chewed on her bottom lip, listening to the sheriff and Gwen talk, and she realised then and there that this entire situation was way above her head. She wasn't prepared for this, not in the slightest. The lab might have been stifling and she might have wanted to spread her wings and fly free, but here she was and the world seemed too big for her to deal with. There was just too much, too many decisions, too many possibilities, and Melody, she just wanted four walls and a door and something she could predict and rely on, tests or no.
She was shaking, not just from cold, chin ducked down to her chest as she tucked her hands in beneath her arms, making herself a smaller target. She didn't have an opinion. Here, there, out of town, in town. No, she didn't know, didn't even know how to make that sort of decision. No one had ever equipped her with that ability. The decisions were made for her. What to eat. What to wear. And now he was asking questions and she was shaking. Yeah, there was a part of her that just wanted to go back. Back and safe and predictable.]
