I think you can't, but also you can? At least, in my experience - and this isn't Hannah centric, just people experience, almost everyone needs to know they're cared about and someone is on their team and will be there if they need something. But we can't always fix it. Or sometimes even be there when we wish we could. Like, I am way more comfortable when I can be with someone in person. I feel like I'm doing something then. So it's hard to sit back and not be there. It makes me feel like I'm not doing anything, which I hate. But I also know it's not necessarily true. That's just my perception of it. [...] I'm rambling, sorry, I've had like half a bottle already, but my point is that the hard point for you might be a different thing than for me, but it doesn't mean you're not helping. You just have to figure out what is needed from you - which isn't always easy - and then that's the thing you give, and then you trust them to have the rest or have the other people who will give the rest.
