Eddie was beyond caring whether or not kissing her right then was a good idea. He didn't even know if this was what he needed and he had the good foresight to not even question it. He looked at her in that short distance between them and recognized a glimmering want in those galaxy eyes. He had seen it a few times here in Repose, but the last time he really appreciate it was back home in New Jersey. A place he was trying very hard to come to peace with.
His light fingertips traced her face from her cheekbone around to jaw and he didn't break his gaze.
With a smile, the carnival king dared: "I don't know. Kiss me again and let's find out." He moved in closer, free arm wrapping around her waist so he could pull her against him. Eddie let her make the final move mostly out of a security crutch he had in the back of his mind. If she was really sorry or this easy fix idea wasn't going to work for her, she could still back out without feeling like he assaulted her. That was the hope, anyway.
