Re: At the Spooky House: Muerte / Eddie
She slanted a look over at his chuckle, exasperation around her eyes but a smile on her lips. Her expression cleared when he frowned, and she wanted to reach out to press fingers to his mouth, chase the frown away. It hadn't been a pleasant experience for her, no, but it had led to the steps she was taking now. With the distance of those days between, she could be grateful instead of just angry and annoyed.
He chased the frown away on his own, though, replacing it wish a smile she much preferred. And she could see the relief there as well, could feel the beginnings of it in her own chest. It felt like maybe. And a little like hope. Who knew hope could feel so nice. And agreement. "I'm going to try harder too. I was... wallowing, for a while. I was only seeing the bad things and I didn't want to deal with them. But there's more good than bad, right?" And she reached over, leaning closer, to take his hand, to lace her fingers through his. "There's this, at the very least..." Skin against skin, and not having to watch as the life drained away from him. How could she have been so quick to ignore this?
She did't let go of his hand, but she frowned again as she listened to him talk about Sasha. She was worried about the situation - about them losing her, about how Eddie would react if they did. She wanted to help, but she didn't know if it would end up being positive or negative if she did. The Loa were tricky to deal with at the best of times - and this was hardly the best of times. But she nodded. "Taking your time is good, as long as Sasha is okay for the moment." A pause, and then something she could offer. "If you want to talk anything through..."
