Re: lakeside mansion; hugh c. & dietre a.
Dietre was quiet for a moment, thinking. He couldn’t help but wish he could find himself in the sort of scenario where he could get close to someone quickly. Though, the more he thought about it, he wondered if that had been the case with him and Aleksi. He had taken the werewolf in when he was alone and knew no one. The two of them were suddenly living in a very, very small house together. They had no one else but each other, so naturally they had gotten close. Looking back, Dietre suspected Aleksi confused gratitude for love, and he himself was no wiser and ended up doing the same. ...But he didn’t really want too much about that at the moment.
“Perhaps something similar happens for musicians performing duets,” he mused after a while. “Though I don’t actually know any other musicians...” Save for Misha, but the boy was still missing. Dietre regretted that he had never really gotten a chance to play music with him, though he doubted Misha would really want to. They had a tendency to get into arguments whenever they interacted. "Unlucky again."
Another brief stretch of silence before Dietre spoke again, voice soft, “...I want to believe it too.” But that didn’t mean he did.
His wine was going to need another refill soon. He drank as he tried to think of how to lighten the mood a little again. Something came to mind, and there was a bit of a mental back and forth over if he should say it or not because, as inexperienced as he was, he knew it was flirtatious given all the talk about getting close to your dance partner. Being tipsy made him daring enough to just go on ahead and say it. “Anyway... You’ll be the first to know if I decide to pick up dancing.”
