Downstairs, and up the stairs, and then the knob turned and the door opened. She smiled at him, and she hopped to her feet and crossed the room in a skip-run to give him a big hug. She was unharmed, but unfocused, and he was tall, tall, and she was small, small. Hug, hug, glomp and cling, and then she stepped back and nodded toward Daniel at the kettle. "Daniel, this is my brother. Si, this is Daniel," and she was still dragging the blanket behind herself.
