Re: [Lakeside Manor: Hugh & Atticus]
"Not too different from my own attitude," Atticus said of the concept of not worrying about things that couldn't be resolved. "But am curious too. Sometimes the two things war with one another." Didn't know about wards at the house. Wasn't sure he would have felt better had he known. Had seen too much stock put into wards; reminded him of Claire, who he supposed was still in Italy. Had thought her insane at first, but that was a contemplation for another time. Right now, he stood.
"Warm weather's coming. Lake should hopefully be calm this boating season. Will make a sailor out of you yet," he offered with a grin. "Better get on acquiring an assistant then, to schedule your boating outings. Nothing says a person has arrived like an assistant does. Secretary? Whatever term you prefer." Lazy grin. Was contented. Had been good conversation and good chocolate. For Atticus, those were the makings of a good day. "But appreciate the offer to let me bypass your agent, assistant, or secretary. Let's look at the following weekend. Will get some decent dinner items out in the Capital. Not much in the way of gourmet at the small general store in town, and am not really a cornbread and fried chicken man."
Nodded toward the entrance to the house, back toward the door. "Can show myself out. Will reach out and let you know where and when."
With that, and with his hands shoved lazily back into his pockets, Atticus turned and ambled toward the door. Nice way to spend some time.
