Re: tandy & holly; the music store
Yeah, no, Holly's experience was normal through and fucking through, at least until he arrived here. Now, shit was perpetually weird, and he adjusted to it the same way he adjusted to everything else. Sure, at first he'd been massively freaked out by shit, but now? Now it was just another day in Repose, because survival required that adaptability. He also didn't want to be a morose bitch all the time, you know? And life was about accepting and dealing, or you were a morose bitch all the time. And maybe people looked at him and saw morose bitch as his default? But Holly wasn't unhappy and he wasn't sad, and that was all about being able to roll easily with the punches. He'd be in a straitjacket somewhere otherwise at this point. So, yeah, light knives. Something new that he just couldn't figure out yet, and maybe shit just didn't always make sense. He was into sci-fi and science, and that shit always had a reason, even if improbable as fuck, but maybe that was something that had to be reexamined.
"Decaffeinated coffee is a slight against the universe," he deadpanned, because it was. "And I think how you knife someone might not be as important as the fact you did." And he followed that up with a lift of shoulder, a shrug. He'd been paying for a mom he hadn't met since he got here, but there were some things Holly didn't open about, right? He was a kinda private guy, and his parents were among those things, here or there. "Sorry about your mom. That sucks, it's probably not going to change, so that's life. You can have a dog in your own place, but maybe one that doesn't toss knives." Simple.
"I don't think anything goes with light daggers," he said bluntly. "Look, so you have this connection with this dude, and you can switch places, right? It doesn't sound like you've been anywhere else, have you? I have to assume you can make light anything? And your head just goes for knives. Who the fuck knows why. But that isn't even a hypothesis. There's not enough to go on unless you put yourself in different situations and try to figure it the fuck out, you know? Maybe if you're falling or something it would be a light rope. Who the fuck knows?"
